CKD Electrical Services · Fylde Coast

Power, done properly.

Domestic electrical work across the Fylde coast, finished to a standard you can see — EV charging, rewiring, lighting and more. Certified, insured, and tidy when we leave.

Part P registered £5m public liability Fully insured Fylde coast

The standard

Most electrics are hidden. Quality shouldn't be.

The difference between adequate and excellent lives in the details — straight runs, labelled boards, tested circuits, tidy finishes, paperwork that's actually filled in. CKD exists for people who notice.

Services

Everything electrical, one safe pair of hands

Planned properly, installed cleanly, tested thoroughly, certificated on completion. Here's the full board.

EV charging

Charge at home. Wake up full.

A charge point is only as good as the installation behind it. Every CKD install starts with a survey of your supply, earthing and capacity — then runs on its own protected circuit, set up for your tariff so cheap overnight rates actually get used.

  • Supply, load and earthing survey first
  • Dedicated, protected circuit
  • Smart, tariff-ready charge points
  • Certificated and notified under Part P

Boards

Consumer unit upgrades

The consumer unit is the heart of your home's electrics — and an old one protects like an old seatbelt. A modern board brings RCBO protection, so one faulty appliance trips one circuit instead of the whole house, plus surge protection for everything your home now runs on.

  • RCBO protection — one fault, one trip
  • Surge protection built in
  • Circuits tested before energising

Rewires

Full & partial rewires

Planned room by room around how you actually live, sequenced so the house stays liveable, chased in clean and made good properly. Partial rewires are quoted honestly — if only the kitchen and downstairs need doing, that's what gets quoted.

  • Sockets where you'll actually want them
  • Tested circuit by circuit as work completes
  • Full certification on completion

Testing & faults

Inspection, testing & fault finding

The certification and detective side of the trade in one place. EICR condition reports give your wiring a structured health check — ideal when buying, selling, or when nobody's looked in twenty years — while new work leaves with an EIC and smaller jobs with a Minor Works Certificate. And when something misbehaves — tripping breakers, dead sockets, flickering lights — it's diagnosed methodically: test, isolate, prove the cause, fix the cause.

  • EICR reports with a plain-English summary
  • EICs and Minor Works Certificates issued
  • Methodical fault diagnosis — cause, not symptom
  • Honest advice if something bigger turns up

Small works

Alterations, chasing & extra points

The everyday jobs that make a house work properly: new sockets chased neatly into the wall exactly where you need them, extra lighting points, switches moved, spurs added and tired accessories swapped. Chases are cut clean, capped and left ready for making good — not gouged and abandoned — and every alteration leaves with a Minor Works Certificate.

  • Sockets and lighting points added, chased in clean
  • Switches moved, dimmers and accessories upgraded
  • Tidy chases, capped and ready for plastering
  • Minor Works Certificate with every alteration

Lighting

The difference between lit and designed.

Most rooms aren't badly lit — they're lit with one idea instead of three. Good lighting is layered: task light where you work, ambient light that flatters the room, accent light that gives it depth after dark. CKD designs and installs all three, inside and out.

  • Layered schemes: task, ambient, accent
  • Kitchens, bathrooms and living spaces
  • Garden, landscape and façade lighting
  • Dimming and scenes where they earn their keep

Smart home · Garden rooms · Extras

Power beyond the back door.

Garden rooms, offices, bars and workshops need more than an extension lead — they need proper armoured supplies and boards sized for the job. Inside the house, it's the finishing touches: extra sockets exactly where furniture sits, data cabling that beats Wi-Fi dead spots, and smart controls that behave.

  • Armoured sub-main supplies to outbuildings
  • Garden room boards, circuits and lighting
  • Extra sockets, USB, data and media points
  • Smart lighting, switching and heating controls

The paper trail

The paperwork you'll actually get

Certification isn't a favour — it's the job. Depending on the work, you'll be handed the right document, filled in, signed and notified where required.

EIC Electrical Installation Certificate Issued for new circuits and major work — new boards, rewires, EV charger installs. Confirms design, construction and testing to BS 7671.
MEIWC Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate For smaller alterations to existing circuits — added sockets, lighting points, like-for-like changes. Small job, same discipline.
EICR Electrical Installation Condition Report The periodic health check: every circuit inspected and tested, observations coded by seriousness, delivered with a plain-English summary.
PART P Building Regulations notification Notifiable work is registered with building control as standard, so your paperwork stands up when you sell, remortgage or make a claim.

STEP 01

Enquire

WhatsApp, the chat, or the form below — describe the job in your own words and add photos if you like.

STEP 02

Survey & quote

A proper look at the job, then a fixed written quote. No vagueness, no surprises on the invoice.

STEP 03

Install & certify

Clean work, tested as it goes, certificated on completion — with the paperwork handed over, filled in.

Word of mouth

What customers say

About CKD

Small company. High standards. On purpose.

CKD Electrical Services is founder-led and based on the Fylde coast — the person who quotes your job is the person who does it, and the person whose name is on the certificate. Most electrical work disappears behind plaster the day it's finished; that's exactly why the standard matters.

Fixed quotes, kept

The written quote is the price. If something genuinely unforeseeable turns up mid-job, you hear about it before it costs you a penny — never after.

Certificated, always

Notifiable work is tested, certificated and notified under Part P as standard. The paperwork is part of the job, not a favour.

Your home, respected

Dust sheets down, work areas tidied, and the house left the way it was found — except for the electrics, which leave better.

Questions

Asked all the time

Do you charge for quotes?

No. Describe the job by WhatsApp, chat or the form — with photos if you can — and you'll get a free, fixed, written quote. The written price is the price.

What paperwork will I get?

Whatever the job legally and professionally requires: an EIC for new circuits and major work, a Minor Works Certificate for smaller alterations, an EICR if you've booked an inspection — and Building Regulations notification for notifiable work. Handed over completed, not promised.

Which areas do you cover?

The Fylde coast: Poulton-le-Fylde, Blackpool, Thornton-Cleveleys, Fleetwood, Lytham St Annes, Kirkham and the villages around them. Near the edge of that map? Ask — the answer is usually yes.

How quickly will I hear back?

Every enquiry gets a reply, usually within one working day. WhatsApp is the fastest route, and photos of the job speed up quoting enormously.

Can you fit things I've already bought?

Usually, yes — lights, chargers, smart kit. You'll get an honest opinion first if what you've bought will cause problems later, because fitting the wrong thing well is still fitting the wrong thing.

Are you insured and registered?

Yes — Part P registered, with £5 million public liability cover, trading as CKD Electrical Services Limited (Company No. 16311898, VAT registered). It's all in the footer in black and white.

Tell us about the job.

A few lines is plenty — what needs doing, roughly where you are, and any photos help. You'll get a straight answer and a fixed quote, not a sales pitch.

Photos of the fuse board, the room, or the problem itself make quoting faster and more accurate — send them over WhatsApp or add details in your message.
