CKD Electrical Services Limited ("CKD", "we", "us") is the data controller for personal information collected through this website, ckdelec.com. What we collect, and why

We collect only what you choose to give us, and only to respond to you and do the work you ask for:

• Enquiry form: your name, email address, optional phone number, town, the service you're interested in and your message. We use this to reply to your enquiry and prepare quotes. Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
• WhatsApp and email: if you contact us directly, we receive whatever you send (including any photos of your property or installation). We use it for the same purposes.
• Bookings: if you book a call through our scheduling provider, they collect the details you enter (such as your name, email and chosen time) so the booking can be made.
• Doing the work: if you become a customer, we process the details needed to quote, carry out, certify and invoice the job — including your address and records of the electrical work completed. Legal basis: performance of a contract, and legal obligations (for example retaining certification and accounting records).

This website does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and we do not buy, sell or trade personal data.

Who processes data on our behalf

• Web3Forms delivers enquiry form submissions to our email inbox.
• WhatsApp (Meta) handles messages you choose to send us via WhatsApp, under its own terms and privacy policy.
• Cal.com handles appointment bookings if you use the booking option.
• Google Analytics measures site usage (visitor numbers and pages viewed) — only if you accept analytics via the cookie banner, with IP anonymisation enabled.
• Google Fonts serves the typefaces used on this site, which involves your browser requesting font files from Google's servers.
• Our website hosting provider stores the site and standard server logs (such as IP addresses and pages requested) for security and operation.

Where providers process data outside the UK, they do so under recognised safeguards such as the UK's data bridge arrangements or standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to work are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted. Customer records, quotes, certificates and invoices are kept for as long as the law and good practice require — typically six years for accounting records, and electrical certification for the life of the documentation.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email chris@ckdelec.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we'd appreciate the chance to sort any concern out first.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page with a new "last updated" date.
